There are many cab agencies which provide 24x7 services. The field competition in this area is growing day by day. Technology is playing a wider role to enhance customer satisfaction. Business Challenge

Most of the cab service providers face major challenges like manual receipts, bookkeeping, lack of transparency in payment collection from the field, extra hardware for fleet management, no real-time data capture, manipulations in km travelled, and no track of cabs.

Solution Description

The proposed solution consists of POS terminals with GPRS and GPS facility. Each cab has a POS placed in the dashboard. The activity of taxi fleets is usually monitored and controlled by a central office, which provides despatching, accounting, and human resource services to one or more taxi companies. When a customer calls for a taxi, a trip is despatched by computer via GPRS to the most suitable cab. POS gets an alert and when the driver presses OK, he will receive a printout that consists of the details of the customer. The most suitable cab may either be the one closest to the pick-up address (often determined by GPS coordinates) or the one that was the first to book into the "zone" surrounding the pick-up address. At the end of the trip, the driver will give a receipt to the customer for the payment done by him with other details.
